I am so so proud of this little K-12 school! I believe the number I heard at the PTA meeting this evening was 280 students of the 586 are ELL/ESL learners, most of Arabic-speaking backgrounds. My daughter is flourishing in this tiny little secret of a school where they offer Arabic one hour a day, and I am proud to say that she is 6 years old and is already bilingual in Spanish, and can read and write English, Spanish and now Arabic! I am so excited for her future here, it is actually one of the only things holding me to living in this area! Excellent staff, a strong presence of the administration, there is not one time I have walked into the school and not been greeted personally by one of the principals! Very impressive, and I would never take her out to put her back into my home district who denied me bus service because they refused to pick up from her daycare and required a parent to come to the busstop 3 blocks away. Central comes right to our daycare's doorstep, and are not even from our city! I love Central for loving my daughter and teaching her to her maximum potential!I do not know what my future brings, but so long as I am in MIchigan, she will attend Central! Great job Dr. Shalabi!shukrun!

I'm glad your daughter is having a good experience. Unfortunately, this school does not provide adequate assistance for students with special needs. They pass and promote students that have not met necessary standards. They graduate students that have earned failing marks to promote the schools name. The staff is rebuilding each year because working in a system like that is not what is best for the kids. The administration does not support the staff. The students are not disciplined or taught how to be. Overall, it is a shame that they make it too the top of any list, because it is a disservice to the students.
