Help us power our nonprofit newsroom

As we make our way into a new decade, our goals at Bridge remain the same: To provide passionate and rooted Michigan readers with honest, fact-driven journalism on the state’s diverse people, politics, and economy.

John Bebow, president and CEO of The Center for Michigan/Bridge Michigan/BridgeDetroit

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Bridge provides a public service first and foremost. This means we don’t have a paywall on our site, charge a subscription fee, or clutter our articles with ads that have nothing to do with our community. You can trust nonprofit news.

We've nearly doubled our members this year, from 3,500 to 6,500. You're not alone if you believe our work is valuable. As we launch our summer fundraising campaign we're asking readers to contribute what you think we're worth. We believe this is the path to a sustainable business model for statewide news.

If you value our work, will you make a tax-deductible donation today?

By contributing, you’re supporting everyone on staff — and allowing independent news to thrive at Bridge Michigan.

If you’d like to send a check, please mail it to: The Center for Michigan, 4100 N. Dixboro, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.

Facts matter. Trust matters. Journalism matters.

If you learned something from the story you're reading please consider supporting our work. Your donation allows us to keep our Michigan-focused reporting and analysis free and accessible to all. All donations are voluntary, but for as little as $1 you can become a member of Bridge Club and support freedom of the press in Michigan during a crucial election year.

The only thing I would support is total revocation of your 501(c)(3) status. You are the opposite of non-partisan.

Your “violence erupts” headline and story lede about requiring masks was a huge and unfortunate exaggeration. I look to Bridge for careful, comprehensive reporting and this was more in the “crash and burn“ style of local TV news.

Work on the partisanship, hyperbolic headlines, lack of diversity.

Please consider adding payment options. I do "Paypal" all the time, and have set up monthly donations to 501(c)(3)'s before. I would donate through paypal, but you currently only take credit cards. Put in a paypal link, and I'll donate. Good luck, and thanks for your fine journalism.
