Preparing for a news-filled 2024 at Bridge Michigan

  • Bridge Michigan’s year-end fundraising campaign has begun
  • We have a goal of raising $150,000 during the campaign to support our nonprofit newsroom’s journalism in 2024
  • Make your tax-deductible donation to Bridge Michigan

When we complete a big story, series or project at Bridge Michigan, we try to take the time for a newsroom retrospective. We gather together and ask ourselves five big questions:

  • What went well?
  • What didn’t go so well?
  • Who did this journalism help?
  • Did our reporting improve understanding, uplift or prompt change?
  • And most importantly, did our project make Michigan better?

It’s a helpful exercise, and it’s one we also try to do at the end of each year. As 2023 comes to a close, we’ll be asking ourselves these questions. I’m looking forward to what we learn.

During our end-of-year retrospective, I’m certain we’ll talk about the support we’ve received from readers. Your financial support is crucial to Bridge Michigan — in fact, we wouldn’t exist without it.

We’re proud of the work we produced in 2023 (work we’ll share with you in our 2023 annual report early next year!). And we are grateful to our readers, who make this work possible!

Please consider a contribution to our year-end fundraising campaign. We’re aiming to raise $150,000 by December 31, which will go a long way toward helping us meet our 2024 goals, and will prepare us for a news-filled election year in Michigan.

What do you say? Will you help us be even better in 2024?

Thank you for considering this request, and happy holidays
