President Donald Trump is returning to Michigan today and is scheduled to deliver remarks to members of the Detroit Economic Club starting at 2 p.m.

Trump is slated to tour the Ford Rouge Center in Dearborn ahead of his speech, which is expected to focus on the economy and manufacturing. 

Protests are expected outside the Detroit Economic Club meeting at the MotorCity Casino Sound Board theatre. 

During his presidential campaign, Trump promised a “Michigan miracle” and a “stunning rebirth of Detroit” by the end of his four-year term. The latest economic data shows the Republican president has a long way to go to fulfill that promise.
