Bridge’s next Lunch Break will discuss Great Lakes invasive species

Bridge Michigan invites readers to join us from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on March 9 for a Zoom discussion about invasive species in the Great Lakes. In this hour, we'll look at recent developments in invasive species management efforts, including new efforts to keep Asian Carp out of the lakes. Experts will provide an overview of where things stand now with invasives in the Great Lakes, from quagga mussels to “rock snot,” and discuss potential paths forward.
Bridge Michigan environment reporter Kelly House will moderate a discussion with Peter Alsip, ecological modeling data analyst at the University of Michigan's Cooperative Institute for Great Lakes Research; Dr. Rochelle Sturtevant, program manager of NOAA's Great Lakes Aquatic Nonindigenous Species Information System; and Doug Craven, Natural Resource Department director for the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.
This event is in partnership with Circle of Blue and is funded by the Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation and the Bosch Community Fund.
Please fill out the registration form to be sent a calendar invitation to the event, including the Zoom link. This registration form also includes an opportunity to submit questions for our guest speakers.
